How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.
~Carol Sobieski and Thomas Meehan, Annie
Mr. James and Miss Alina, our adoptive family.
They have met us for birthday after birthday, holiday after holiday, and read story after story to the kids. They've been so kind, gracious, and patient. They've babysat in emergencies.
They have advised, comforted, supported, recommended.
They've listened to squeaky violins all too much, and always with a smile.
They have shown enduring friendship.
Now they're leaving for the U.S., on military orders, and boy oh boy, are we gonna miss them!
You see, living abroad, so far from family, puts friends like this in a really special position.
They stand in for family and relatives that can't be here. They are part of events in our lives that others in our family can't attend. They, in turn, have become a very special part of our family.
We wish you all the best James and Alina! Thank you for everything.
Safe travels. We hope to see you soon.
